In honor of World Book Day, we want to give a shout out to RHS alums Amy Seiders Kline and Sara Richter Cosentino, who created RSD Book Day and raised more than $2,000 to buy books for our students.
about rsd book day
RSD Book Day is an organization founded by two Reading School District Alumni, Amy Seiders Kline and Sara Richter Cosentino, in an effort to put a book in the hands of current Reading School District students who may not otherwise own or read one.
The idea came about after Amy and Sara participated in an international organization, World Book Night, whose goal and purpose was to deliver 1 million books to light and non-readers. They both chose RSD as their destination and were incredibly moved by the genuine appreciation of the recipients. Sadly, the World Book Night organization is now on hold, but, with the community's help, they were able to keep the spirit alive, on a much smaller scale.
We know that the right book at the right time in the right hands can shape the life of a person. Their goal was to help shape the lives of 20 kids in each of the 4 levels of schools in the Reading School District. Every dollar raised went directly towards the purchase of books.

Message from Amy & Sarah
Thank you to everyone who has helped turn this day into a reality. Your donations are so very much appreciated. It is our hope that next year we will be able to give books to the other schools in the Reading School District; your future donations will make that possible.
