Good luck to all of our students who are participating in the Girls on the Run Berks 5K this morning at Reading Area Community College. We know you'll make us #RSDproud!
Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The organization envisions a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. To learn more about Girls on the Run and how you can support this great organization, visit: http://gotrberks.org/. Hey, hey...it's Bobby Red Knight's birthday! Sadly, Bobby must undergo surgery on Monday, and he'll miss most of the basketball season. To keep his spirits high, a few RHS students wanted to wish him a happy birthday and a speedy recovery. Please keep Bobby and his family in your thoughts. #RSDproud
Congrats to the RHS Boys Basketball team, which won the Bear Tip-Off Classic last night. Lonnie Walker finished with a game-high 25 points and was named MVP. Damon Stern finished with 17, and Khary Mauras scored 12 points, grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and was named to the all-tournament team. Oh, and this morning, everyone is talking about Lonnie's dunk. Check it out! #RSDproud
Shout out to the great RIHS students who helped us make a thank you video for RIHS staff.
High five for the RHS Key Club members who collected more than 100 canned goods for Berks Women in Crisis.
Reading is reading! Mrs. Steinmeyer’s 3rd grade class at Northwest Elementary School uses the Reading Eagle's MINI Pages. We want to send out a BIG “Thank You” to the Reading Eagle Company for their support, including delivering the daily newspaper to our schools.
First graders at 10th and Green Elementaty celebrated #Thanksgiving with a fun feast. Thanks to teacher Mr. Chappelear for the adorable pics! #RSDproud
How adorable! Nadine Poper, librarian at Amanda Stout, hosted a tea party to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. During conferences today, parents and students enjoyed crafts, snacks and games while watching Alice in Wonderland. Physical education teacher Todd Tirdell was The Mad Hatter.
