Congratulations to RHS student Cesar Santoyo, who designed the district's holiday card this year. Each year, art teacher Bob Englebach works with his graphic design students to create holiday card designs. Dr. Mumin then selects the winning design to use for his holiday message to staff.

Friday was National Ugly Sweater Day, and Tyson-Schoener staff members decided to join in the holiday fun by hosting their own Ugly Sweater Competition. "Activities like this are a good way to boost morale and have fun with each other," Principal Sepulveda said.

Tom Frey, a fifth-grade teacher at Amanda Stout Elementary School, received an honorable mention in Berks Encore's annual Senior Poetry Competition. The poems were judged by an independent panel, including people from the Reading Public Library and Berks Encore. This year, the organization received more than 90 entries.
